Academic Professional Animal Scientist (aPAS or aaPAS)

Current full-time academic faculty members or postdoctoral students with a PhD in animal science are eligible to become academic professional animal scientists without taking the ARPAS exam. Faculty and postdoc positions are required to maintain this membership tier.

Registered Animal Scientist/Registered Animal Product Specialist (RAS/RAPS)

Regardless of your formal education, this membership tier certifies that you have experience and expertise in one or more of the related areas of specialization or species. This tier is perfect for on-farm professionals.

The American College of Animal Sciences also provides board certification in the specific discipline colleges of Animal Behavior, Animal Food Science, Animal Genetics, Animal Nutrition, Animal Physiology, and Animal Welfare Science for the highest level of professional certification.
