ARPAS Foundation Update
ARPAS Foundation Committee: Bill Braman, Marit Arana, Randy Shaver, Dale Hill, Darrell Johnson, Moe Bakke, and Kenneth Cummings
The ARPAS Foundation’s assets now total $64,407. The ARPAS Foundation was established to recognize and fund worthy educational efforts of ARPAS and its members, or to promote the activities of ARPAS. The Committee is utilizing the Member Survey conducted two years ago to determine the educational activities to fund and support. The Foundation now has earnings to fund projects. One project under consideration is a series of ARPAS member interactive webinars where experts will review the implications of the implementation Food Safety and Modernization Act on our livestock and poultry industries. Ideas for projects from the membership are welcome.
The general Principles and Guidelines for operation of the ARPAS Foundation include:
1. Funds accumulated by the ARPAS Foundation are to be invested at the discretion of the ARPAS Executive Committee.
2. Only the earnings of the funds may be used to support the educational efforts of the Foundation. The principal will not be used except under extreme circumstances as determined by the ARPAS Executive Committee.
3. The ARPAS Executive Committee will make the final decision regarding the educational efforts or other activities to be funded by the Foundation.
The ARPAS Foundation Committee and the Executive Committee are responsible for leading the efforts to raise funds to support the efforts of the Foundation. You can help by making an annual donation to the ARPAS Foundation. An opportunity to do this will be presented at the time you pay your ARPAS dues or you may make a donation at any time during the year. Remember that ARPAS is a 501(c) non-profit organization, so your donations are tax deductible under current tax law.
