I would like to take a moment to remind ARPAS chapters that the in recent years ARPAS has been budgeting up to $5,000 annually for chapter program support. If your chapter has an idea for use of these funds, please submit a proposal to me as ARPAS president so that we can review as an executive committee.

The nominating committee, comprising the last three past presidents of ARPAS, has been working on finding candidates for our open positions. Please remember to vote in the upcoming ARPAS election. Newly elected governing council members will assume their positions at the end of the summer meeting in Denver. 

You will soon receive information regarding the member survey developed by Past President Marit Arana with input from the strategic planning committee. Please take some time to complete the survey questionnaire—we need your input to make the planning process worthwhile for the organization!

Updates regarding the ARPAS Foundation, the Annual Symposium at the Joint Annual Meeting, CEUs, and nominations for Distinguished Professional Animal Scientists will be provided by others elsewhere in the newsletter.

I am looking forward to seeing many of you in Denver in July. Thank you for the opportunity to serve as your president!
