New Publisher’s Update from Elsevier: The Professional Animal Scientist

Emma Bruun, Elsevier, Animal Science Journals Publisher

Categories: Updates, December 2015
It is with great pleasure that I formally announce that Elsevier will become the official publisher for The Professional Animal Scientist (PAS) from January 2016.

Elsevier is delighted to have the opportunity to work more closely with the American Registry of Professional Animal Scientists and FASS to provide assistance and publishing expertise to support the ongoing success of this highly regarded publication. Elsevier, in collaboration with ARPAS and FASS, will continue to drive PAS forward in 2016 and beyond with a renewed focus on increasing submissions, commissioning special issues and review articles, growing the international readership and authorship, and enhancing the online visibility and discoverability of the journal.

I would like to take this opportunity to personally thank Wayne Kellogg, PAS editor-in-chief; Susan Pollock, director of publications at FASS; and all of the production and technical staff at FASS for their support throughout the journal’s transition to Elsevier over the last few months. We are extremely grateful for your efforts.

I would also like to thank ARPAS President Robert Wettemann, who has very kindly donated his personal print copies of the earliest issues of the journal—which extend back to 1985—to Elsevier so that we may digitize these issues and make them available online to members for the very first time.

We look forward to providing you with future news and announcements as the journal continues to develop and to a very successful and rewarding partnership with ARPAS.
