Midwest Chapter - Professional Development Conference for Entrepreneurs

Categories: Announcements, Uncategorized, Issues, August 2018

What have you done for yourself lately?  I am not talking about the basics of something in your belly, on your back, and over your head.  But, I am talking about what things are you doing to enhance your professional skills?   We all have to work with others on our jobs, regardless of what kind of job we have.  You may already be an APRAS member but are you involved?  Are you networking?  I have heard it said before that our working lives are like high school meaning that we need to play nice with others and get along with other people to succeed.  Yes, only you took the quizzes and tests in high school yet wasn’t it nice to be a part of a group?  Whether that group be a sports team, student council, class officer, FFA, etc….. didn’t the group relationship further your sense of well-being?

Of course, you have graduated high school and we are not going back.  However, once you are out in the working world….. it is necessary to get along with others.  Getting along with others requires communication.  Come to the 2nd annual Midwest ARPAS PDCE on September 18th, 2018 at 1 pm ahead of the Minnesota Nutrition Conference in Mankato, MN  It’s an ideal time to meet both young and seasoned animal science professionals as well as to brush up upon your relationship skills followed by your choice of either monogastric or ruminant updates from the Minnesota Nutrition Conference later in the week.  We will be learning about what our individual listening styles are, as well as how to ask questions more effectively.  Don’t miss this opportunity to network with animal science professionals!  See you in Minnesota!
